Fisichella rounds off Force India’s Barcelona testing

Giancarlo Fisichella rounded off Force India’s four-day testing with 141 laps of the Circuit de Catalunya, clocking up more than 2000 km overall before returning to its Silverstone base to prepare for the season opener in Melbourne later this month.

Fisichella brought the programme to a productive close with a simulation of a race weekend and completed 141 laps with a fastest lap of 1min 21.045, which placed him 10th among 11 drivers, just ahead of Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Bourdais (1:21.629).

We went in the right direction with some set-up work and the car was very reliable so we could really start to work on the balance,” Fisichella said.

“We didn’t do the best lap time when the circuit was at its peak in the morning otherwise we could have improved the time, perhaps a 20.5, but overall I feel comfortable.

Tension builds as Canberra prepares for torch relay – ABC News …

The 17 pro-Tibet activists arrived at the embassy as fireworks were going off around the city to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic flame.

He says the event would be unforgettable, but he has told the crowd that he chose that word deliberately and delicately, as the relay may not turn out to be the occasion people had hoped for.

“To respond to any immediate threat against the flame or torch bearer these runners should be trained security personnel with the ability to cover and evacuate the torch bearers in the case of an emergency,” he said.

“I’d have to say some of the two greatest moments in my life have been at the Olympic Games and sometimes when political things take over, or try to take over, it does dampen the spirit a bit.”

Even a rabbi can appreciate Christmas music

“Santas All Revved Up to Spread Holiday Cheer,” the headline read, along with a picture of Santa Clauses in the Toys for Tots parade.

Surely, acknowledging the multiplicity of faiths is a good thing; I’m just not convinced that “Happy Holidays” is the only or best way to do it.

Chinese regional dishes

“Some have traveled to China or just the East or West Coasts and they want some of the dishes they’ve had there.”Increased from various regions of mainland China to Chicago has also created demand for more regional Chinese fare, Hu says.

And while we still don’t have the regional variety and quality you might find on the East and West Coasts, we are improving every year.To satisfy those appetites, Ben Pao, for example, has featured complete meals of Shanghainese and Northern Chinese fare this year as specials; they also have a roster of regional dishes that rotate on the restaurant’s menu.

One thing working in diners’ favor is that ingredients such as Sichuan peppercorns—which used to be illegal to import—are now more readily available. To enjoy some of China’s regional dishes, you need to know where to look and what to order.

So some dishes—the famous Yunnanese “crossing the bridge” noodle soup or Shanghainese carp tails in brown sauce or authentically oil-slicked Sichuan ma po tofu—may not be as appealing to some American tastebuds. Here’s a very simplified rundown of the regions and specialties showing up in the Chicago area these days and a few places to try them.
